A nice wee plan B (again)

Supposed to be Glen Etive today,forecast not good ,thought about Mullach Clach a'bhlair/Sgor Ghaoith,forecast 100 mph winds so decided to play it safe and go for Ben Vrackie.Up there for 8 ,met Ian and jake and we were off just before half 8

Up through the woods and on to the hillside where it was pretty mild and calm despite the horrendous forecasts Took the bealeach path and got up to the lochan

Still pretty good conditions up till here and made the top in about an hour and a half

Windy at the top but could see over to schiehallion which looked ok but over to bhienn a ghlo was a different story, looked pretty wild that way so we were glad we never ventured further up the A9,sat at the top for a wee while having a cuppa ,throwing snow balls for jake and built a wee snow man

Back down to the cars in 3 hours 15 mins,glad we good out,good wee hill this,ideal for a winter walk,quick pint in Fishers bar home for 2 o clock and out for half2 for a few pints with pigeon snr.No sure how it would have panned out if we had went up to sgor gaoith but we think we made the right shout,here'hoping for better weather next weekend

the nice wee plan B is a good idea and good report ..... been blowing in the Gaidhealtachd for the last three days ,i may chance Garbh Bheinn (Ardgour) tomorrow ....then again !!

Nice one pigeon I chickened out and stayed at home - fed up not being able to see much on many walks, I'm trying to go out when there's more chance of views.....problem is I'm spending a lot of time off the hills as a result

Seeing as it was only a short day Polly ,the soup of the day(baxter's chicken broth no less) was left in the bag for the upcoming Drumochter trip,probably too windy for the stove anyway.Jake has been known to have some soup ,he will eat anything,got him some potted hough for next time(don't tell him ,it's a surprise)Ian tells me his favourite drinks are tequilla or bailey,s

Looking forward to the Chicken Broth already, I was looking at some home made soup recipes for one of our trips, it may be worth a try
Watty has phoned about May and loads of room so he will get booked in with no problems, he is well excited about it already
