This was a windy cold day and it wasn’t letting up on the hill, the drive down were nice clear skies, but as soon as we reached Balsporran Cottage the sky turned black and the waterproofs on were before we headed away, the tips of fingers numb already from getting ready. The snow and wind made the walk up the hill slow and the camera didn’t come out until the top it was this wndy and cold, the worst I’ve seen it since I started hill-walking. Very short stop at the top, and decision made to come back down after one member blown off their feet, the rain had started or the facial acupuncture as it felt, picked up path and headed back to car, unfortunately photo’s don’t seem to being saved on phone, strange, need to put on nerds hat

Interesting day !! :D

That summit cairn/shelter could have done with a bit more height ! But enjoyed it all the same. Think I should have put my goggles on as eyes were sore following morning after being blasted all day.

Glad you took some pics as my camera never came out. We'll get back up there and complete the other's, ideal winter ones methinks as no major difficulties as long as its a reasonably nice day with less wind.

I'm happy to travel, you have to to get to many of these, still not so far now I live here rather than Bedfordshire !!

I've got nearly all to do over Braemar way and the Cairngorms, apart from Lochnagar (just the one) which I did a few weeks back with Hazel and only done 3 in the Gorms. But daylight limits the distances walkable, but having seem Ben Wyvis today, as I took some rubbish to the tip at Dingwall, it looked superb clothed in white. Reckon despite the thaw setting in during our day more white stuff must have fallen overnight.

If we get less wind I'll give you some compass/map lessons and maybe some ice axe stuff if you fancy it !! :D

Plus Hazel and wifey been picking on me on Facebook to get a job....buggers...so may soon be confined to walking weekends

Did Hazel get any grief from her post about the walk on facebook.

Ice axe lessons would be good cheers

No grief Tomsie - but bruises galore after my fall. My rear end is really quite a glorious sight with a mixture of red, black, blue now tinged with yellow!!! My left elbow is double its normal size and my arms are covered with deep bruising from the jaggy rocks I landed on. Love the pic of me trying to stand still btw...looks like I'm really having a blast - not!!!! :D
