Hi Dooterbang! It was nice to have met you too. I wondered whether you managed to do Meal Chuaich - hats off to you and your group, in such conditions. First class mountain porn
Glad you got down safely
So did we!
We managed to reach both Munro summits (working with map, compass and gps), we looked like snowmen - so Black Panther turned into a Snow Leopard for a short time
It was really hellish up there and on the way to the second Munro the wind stole our map!!! Kevin tried to chase it, no chance, he moved too slow in the snow. Luckily we still had a picture of the map on the camera and could take grid refs from gps so we found the top cairn. From there we decided to go due west and instead of looking for the quarry track we went down a snowy gully. It was mostly good going, a few funny moments with snow up to our bums
We were back down just about when the sun was setting.
I'll post my report soon just as I find some time to sort pics - I've got Christmas madness going on now at home at full speed. Crazy time!
Here's one more proof that condition up there were just as described:
- Snow Leopard by the summit cairn of (not very visible) Carn na Caim.
