spiderwebb wrote:Dooters, fantastic effort. I guess it helps being with such a large group but can't help thinking this is beyond me ! Then again my solo epic last March was probably similar when I think about it with 5 miles to walk out in the dark in near white out from midday with two self arrest slips thrown in for good measure. Wife didn't think it was so funny at the time though !
Ah see, your just as mental/motivated as us lot :D

Thanks, shagger :D

WIth a hangover and poor sleep. Rather you than me!
oh im sure you've been out under the influence of a dram or 6!!

rockhopper wrote:Definitely off your collective rockers - maybe if you stopped fooling around you might get back in time for your dinner

But seriously, epic trip doots and great sunset photos towards the end :D Back in May I had worked out a route to cover the 7 munros, plus The Sow and the Graham, Creag Ruadh, in one big 2 day loop with an overnight camp on a dry, hot, sunny end of May holiday weekend -didn't quite work out that way  - much prefer your weather even though not good all the time 8)
That sounds like an epic trip...and right up my street. The 7 munros could be bashed in 1 long day in summer but we kept these bunch especially for winter. I think next spring/summer will throw up ubertastic epics from a few WH members

Magical indeed, not the usual Saturday evening.

fipriestley wrote:Great report - what an adventure! Now I'm really kicking myself for only doing 1 of 2 munros aimed for yesterday
Its still there to be walked again :)

BlackPanther wrote:Hi Dooterbang! It was nice to have met you too. I wondered whether you managed to do Meal Chuaich - hats off to you and your group, in such conditions. First class mountain porn  Glad you got down safely :D So did we!
We managed to reach both Munro summits (working with map, compass and gps), we looked like snowmen - so Black Panther turned into a Snow Leopard for a short time  It was really hellish up there and on the way to the second Munro the wind stole our map!!! Kevin tried to chase it, no chance, he moved too slow in the snow. Luckily we still had a picture of the map on the camera and could take grid refs from gps so we found the top cairn. From there we decided to go due west and instead of looking for the quarry track we went down a snowy gully. It was mostly good going, a few funny moments with snow up to our bums    We were back down just about when the sun was setting.
I'll post my report soon just as I find some time to sort pics - I've got Christmas madness going on now at home at full speed. Crazy time!
Here's one more proof that condition up there were just as described:

Well done on bagging both summits, in what was crap conditions.
We also used a combo of GPS & Maps. Glad you got home safely and had the joys of xmas shopping still to contend with.
Good thinking taking a photo of your map, top tip indeed :D
Looking forward to that TR.

This walk with your mates is well worth missing a Christmas night out for.

They're over-rated anyway, you know its time to leave when the people asking you to dance address you as Mrs Henderson or Boss!!!!

You would probably have fallen asleep face first into your Jalfreizi
