Sunshine and showers MWIS said. 60% CoCFM apparently.

Utter, utter, nonsense. Visibility up high started bad and got worse. We used the corries - Brandy and Whirral, as handrails to ensure we didnt get lost on the plateau. Still needed the compass to reach the trig point after waiting 20 minutes for a sight of Loch Whirral - from the top of the crags above - for alignment!

Unexpected dusting of snow - very nice!
P1140745.JPG
Good path, a wee bit misty, but sure to blow over....
P1140752.JPG
And then there's the sunshine, as promised, all will be good soon!
P1140753.JPG
Loch Brandy, wind was now howling, but mist rising a bit, still no sun though!

Weather closes in, and stays in!
P1140759.JPG
Interesting little defile, a gash in the crags above Loch Brandy
P1140761.JPG
More defile. A place for summer bivvy. Not today though. Still no sun!

An hour of blizzard later, we make the trig point of Ben Tirran.

Back in the corrie, the 'sunshine' (forget that) and 'showers' has become a 3 hour snow storm. MWIS at its infuriating worst!

Probably the worst blizzard I've been in - bit of a good-weather walker mind so thats not saying much

Glad it was only Ben Tirran I was climbing. My pal had to take his glasses off as they were balling up with snow - on the inside of the lens as well as the outside!

That 60% also tempted me out & like you I got 3 hours of snow & nae views. They were also way off with the winds. 50 - 80mph predicted when in fact at 818m it was only 25-35. Still it was good to get out

Ski goggles needed I think
