On the Friday night i got an sos message from Mountain Thyme informing me she was now a Corbett bagger and would be climbing Beinn an Lochain on the Saturday
. She asked if i would like to guide her up, sorry sorry join her on this walk. As i'd been longing to do Beinn an Lochain for a while now, how could i refuse. We arranged to meet at 09.30 on the Saturday at the start of the walk. I arrived first with not only Mountain Thyme behind me but also in the car was 2 more guides, the guides being fellow walkhighlanders mgmt & Milesy
. One guides not enough for the Corbetts it appears. We set off from the layby at 10 and straight away encountered our first obsticle, the burn. It was overflowing but we all managed to leap across, just.Though MT'S left foot did go under, so there was MT at the start of the walk on a wet day with one wet foot. MT being MT though just got on with it without a grumble. We then made our way over the boggy ground and up the path, the path leading all the way to the summit. This is a steep hill with narrow ledges on the way and a wee scramble now and then. On the higher ground there was still some snow which was soft and mgmt led the way through with the rest following, there were some tricky sections but being in a group we all seen each other through safely. By the time we reached the summit we were all soaked through, so we took some photos descended a bit to have a spot of lunch then made our way back to the start. We arrived back at 13.30, the day weather wise was poor, the walk was a good one and the company was superb.
