Thanks for all the comments :)

Hope your knee isn't too bad and your out on the slopes again soon - with new back-up lighter. :)

I'd have gone with the fight story, maybe changed the shark for a stag though.

Fixed my old lighter now, although I don't think I'd trust on the hill again though. Relegated to fire starting duties at home I think. The knee actually seemed okayish by the time I got home and all of yesterday, twinging a bit today though.

I did think about a story involving a fight with a Stag, but then they might have asked where the Stag was, at which point the game would be up. A shark was far more believable as I could just say it swam away.

starrynights wrote:As for the young women .... I'm sure it wasn't condescension. They were probably thinking, 'wind eh, pah!!!! You've been fighting off a crocodile'. They just happened to be patrons of the SSCS (Save the Scottish Crocodile Society) ... what you were seeing was contempt!!

I didn't consider that. I feel better now, contempt has to be far better than condescension.

Klaasloopt wrote:I like this report. It is well written, a pleasure. And the fuss about the women, pfff, not worth it. Be a total snob and state that you can't be bothered with summiting a munro no more. Meeting people on a track is a great chance to adopt any role. Tourist, insect-collector, poet...

I am so liking your style!

Cracking photos (even if handheld) and very enjoyable  One of my favourite hill groups with the Glen/Loch Etive views and nice to see it in winter colours - cheers :D

Superb photos, as ever :D And a great report, despite the knee and the fact you were unable to continue to the summits. They will be there another day, but that doesn't always help I find. It's the frustration of not making it to the top when you really wanted to.

Klaasloopt - I love that idea ..... "Summits!!!! Oh they are so yesterday!!!" I could really pull that off with my English accent. And a look of condescension. 8)

Forgot to add Frogwell - stunning pics too. Just can't decide which is my favourite. It's causing me stress. :?

Fantastic photos and report.
Make me want to go there, but need a bit more walking experience first. My list of walks to do is getting longer every time I look at this site (every day  )

Wish I'd done that one now! I had been thinking about doing some of the Buachailles instead. I think they had better weather all round.

Excellent, I like stressing people. It relieves stress :)

Managed to knacker the knee again last night while doing a penguin impression in order to amuse the three year old. She wasn't amused, and I was in pain, so I force fed her cantaloupe melon. I'm going to take it as easy as possible today as I was hoping to get out tomorrow or Monday
