Today was Beinn Mhanach at the bridge of orchy hill

Alec and Bear pick me up at 7am ou the A82 not much to say about the drive but as we past loch lubnaig that it was frozen solid from bank to bank in some places.

Got parked up at the side of the road at Auch estate the cars dinny half fly past you there no room for error :shock:

left the car at 8.45 knew about the long walk in and the river crossings 22 time there and back :( but nae wet feet :D

then you arrive at the base of the hill had a cup of tea and a roll for the pull up the hillside followed the fence most of the way and keeping the burn to our left handside

still no waterproofs on yet got to the snowline then looked over my shoulder made the decision get the waterproofs on now :lol:

the snow was coming and going nae views then a view but the time the camera came out the cloud was back :( :(

Alec,Me .Bear summit
had a cup of tea sat for 15 mins to see if it will clear acording to MWIS good views in the afternoon pish so we set of back the way we came about 20 mins into the decsent meet two guy coming up the way but the missed the best fall that the two of us has ever had first Alec sliped on a ice covered stone it was face plant in the snow about 10ft away:lol: :lol: i was to busy laughing that i done the same but with a ninja roll and a face plant :lol: :lol: picked our selfs up still pishing ourselfs when the two heads pop up had a wee chat and one of the guys said any views up top no i said a well we will have some in about half an hour he said oh well on our way down after 20MINS looked round and whit clear blue skys MWIS SORRY :lol: anyway back at the bottom of the hill took of the waterproof jacket and fleece but left the waterproof trousers on just incase the river had risen a bit but no problem by now the blue skys were every where :sick: :sick:

Great stuff Quoman, love the description of the two falls late on :lol: that shot of the deep snow is like all of the last 3 walks I've done over here :D

Hi Quoman , I was just ahead of you going up the valley , I headed off up the Corbetts to the south but I could see two people and a HUGE dog with a red coat on below me, glad you had a good day , say hello to Bear :D

Yeh the day the river wasn't that high a couple of ninja runs over them light as a feather :lol:

That was us alright seen your red van on the way up the seen you walking along the WHW.
Bear's a big sofftie really that was a steep climb you had.
I would give here a big kiss but she was eating sheep **** awe day :lol: :lol:

Can't believe I knocked back the chance to do this one last week because I thought the river crossings would be horrendous, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Polly the river could be a nighmare if it was to rise another 3 or 4 ins that would be it hame :(

Yeh we were only 20 mins down of the summit when the blue skies appeared :( and it was like that the rest of the way back to the car :( :( still a good walk this is.

Good read & pics. I had a close encounter with a coach while getting suited & booted by Ben Cruachan. Had to walk back from Oban :lol:

Bad luck missing the views guys, you should have had that extra hour in your beds :lol: Good to hear update on the rivers as i've still to do this one, think it might just be my first Munro this year :D
