this was one of the wettest days I have experienced in 12 years of life. We were camping in glen kinglas and we had planned to do ben ime and ben narnain as well, but we were beaten back by the weather.

Anyway, we set off around 10:00 with our butties and that, hopeful that the weather might just clear up. Or get worse.

it quickly became horribly damp as we squelched our way up the hillside. It cleared ever so slightly now and again, but in general it just got worse and worse. There was no wind- just horrible damp clingy soak-you-to-the-skin type rain :( :( :( .
The only decent photos we could get were of plants, but here are a selection:

by the time we got to the summit we were soaked to the skin despite layer upon layer of waterproofs...

it hadn't been a huge walk but it took us ages. once we got back to the tent the weather was truly unbearable. good old mum sat outside and made hot drinks and pasta in the rain, while me and dad warmed up and prepared our ancient tent for an indoor meal...

it was an annoying let down, this day was, because of the glorious sunshine we had seen looking all promising the night before...

at least there were no midges .... we'll have to do this one another day!

Shame about the weather, looks like you had a great family day out though, certainly different.
That's an old report, have you been back on a better day since?
