I now have a 100% improvement on every munro bagged. I have went from 1 to 2 to 4. Hell will freeze over though if you think my next report will be for 8  . Having a wee bit left in the tank and with reflection i now am regretting not carrying on to An Stuc. Still, no point in burning myself out plus i had not done my homework on An Stuc.

Least im on the right road (for once)

I left the Lawers car park (or building site) at 1035 and was back at the car for 1540. It would have been a wee bitty quicker but i had to speak to everyone that passed me whether they liked it or not  On the ascent i passed fellow WH member Frank0md. He was kinda excited as he had seen a broken spectre at the top of Lawers. The climb to Beinn Ghlas was uneventful. I tried my best to keep to the main path though it was heavy going on the ankles.

I knew i was heading in the right direction for Ben Lawers as the well trodden path was a giveaway. Unfortunately most of it was shrouded in cloud once again preventing me getting decent photos.

Almost there!

Once at the top of Lawers there were photo opportunities inbetween the clouds. I could have stayed there all day. Theres something special about the eerie sound of silence. A couple of walkers soon joined me at the summit cairn. We had a good talk about our walking exploits. Like me they were still on single figures but now hoplesselly got the same addiction as me it would appear. I had a look over at An Stuc, but my sensible head won the day (for once)

I set off a good 10-15 minutes befor the other walkers i had met at the summit. My plan was to retarce my steps by going back over Beinn Ghlas. Bizarrely i met up with them again at the exact spot where the path bypassing Beinn Ghlass comes out.  This was a tremendous day for me to be honest. Im starting to develop more knowledge of what makes a good hill from a not so good one. Weeks holiday(again) next week. Time to get my planning head on me thinks..

Nice one. Your a wee bit ahead of me, i'm still in training for my 1st munro which i'll have a crack at soon. Ghlas/Lawers is likely to be high up on my list to get done. Good luck for your next one :D

Yeah, good stuff, lg68.

Expecting to do these at the end of the month, along with An Stuc and the rest of the range. Your report and photos have piqued my anticipation.

Brings back the memories - these two were also my #3 and #4 in the snow although it was rather a long time ago 8)

Great report Luckyguy and firmly puts these on my list. An Stuc is one I'd like to see in person - I've yet to have any experience of a scramble beyond whats written on here so I still don't quite know how I'll take to it.

Where have you got planned for next?

Excellent, nice one..or should I say two. We'll hopefully be doing these two at the weekend so an upto date report is great. Thinking pushing on to An Stuc if weather and legs allow. I've been asking about the descent of An Stuc so looks like as long as time and care is taken it should be ok.

Thanks for the report.

Nice report and some lovely pics there. I really like the B+W treatment in some of them. I've done a bit of B+W conversion myself but you've made me hungry to take some more shots for that kind of work.
Keep on bagging. you've already surpassed Antonia and me.

Nice TR and pics - - still better views than my four visits to the Lawers lot - 'luckyguy' indeed.
