Mid week sneaky peak time again. Tuesday was the day, which was a shame because it looked like being the worst weather day of the week, but hay ho.
As the weather looked poor most places west was chosen as I have hardly been west at all this year. Equally the weather did promise to get better as the day went on so no point rushing out the door at 05:30.
Picked up Mark in Dumbarton at 07:00 & on to Crianlarich to meet Andy, finally pulling into the parking area at Glen Creran & ready for the of 09:30, noting that the GPS had us at 7 meters. It’s been a while since I have done a sea level Munro, but I thought it would be good practice for getting on to the ridge in Kintail.
Followed the route detailed here & after about 20 mins we were at the track end & ready to hit the broad ridge. We had disturbed some stags already having there morning graze. The path at the end of the track soon disappears & once we reach the staggeringly high point of 200 meters we were in the clag.
Could always just make out the next rise, so on & on we go almost walking in to the first lochan as we could barely see it. From the lochans we picked up the path again & had it pretty much all the way to the summit. Very windy with no views, but pleased to have made it with good company.
Dropped back done for a lunch stop once we found a reasonably sheltered spot & cracked all the usual gags about picnics in Scotland & stunning views & then it started to lift. Mark went back up onto the ridge & after a ‘bloody hell look at this’ Andy & I joined him. We could see the sea!
The walk back done was pretty pleasant as the hills around us came & went.
A nice walk with no major incidents, but it is a bit of a slog.

Nice wee report Jonny. Know we didn't get the weather all day but it was a good day on the hills. Once the clag lifted the views were pretty good. Told you it would lift
