Saturday 17 October, weather - perfect!

I'll keep this report short as it has been covered a few times but wanted to share a few photos.

Suffice to say that this was a near perfect day on the hills. I set off from the end of Loch Arkaig at 8:35am and didn't return until 6:20pm just as light was fading. I don't think I could have done it much quicker and the number of cars that were still there as I drove away suggested a fair few folk would be finishing in the dark (although I am sure not all of them were returning that same day). This was a wonderful walk and even the very boggy and slippy descent off Sgurr na Ciche couldn't dampen my spirits at the end of a long day.

PS. If I have mis-identified any hills, please let me know!

Lovely 8)

No hassles with Glen Dessary stalking?

They've not been the most welcoming traditionally :?

No, I nodded my head at a couple of stalkers I passed and they reciprocated so no complaints there.

There was an obvious sign at the gate at the start showing the acceptable routes to take. Just the usual stuff about sticking to the path and staying out the corries.

The acceptable path - does that now include the ridge?

Problem with Glen Dessary last few years is they accept your presence on the low-level rights of way but not the ridge lines :?

Lovely pics! The views from these hill really are spectacular, and this route is my joint best hill day ever (so far). We also had a cracking weather, and as we were staying in Glen Dessary (rented the lodge for a week) we were actually allowed to drive all the way to Upper Glen Dessary house, so the day wasn't even horrendously long.

Fantastic pictures, considering doing these this weekend but slightly scared by how big a day it is ...

Did you walk in or take the bike in?

Walked in but you could easily bike to Upper Glendessary (I think... it was 3 years ago). Bike would probably save an hour and I lost another half hour when I left my poles behind after a break :? .
