Starting in Patterdale I walked up to Boredale Hause then up to Place Fell. Here's where it all went a bit wrong and I completely lost my bearings. I worked out approximately where I was, followed what I hoped was the correct bearing to get back on track. I've never been so pleased to see a sheepfold before! The rest of the walk was relatively uneventful but the last section was a bit of a route march to get back on time schedule which was a shame because it meant I didn't enjoy the walk along Ullswater as much as I could have.
Another warm sunny day. Definitely time to go home, don't want to push my luck with the weather!
Warning
Please note that hillwalking when there is snow lying requires an ice-axe, crampons and the knowledge, experience and skill to use them correctly. Summer routes may not be viable or appropriate in winter. See winter information on our skills and safety pages for more information.
