Easter Sunday walk with the girls (aged 4 and 7). Jonathan wanted to do this because it was the first fell he did as a child with his parents. A pretty cold and gray day with mist and wind on top (when isn't there!). We parked at Binsey Lodge and traversed round for at least half the time on the track and path until we met the green lane coming up from Bewaldeth. Bethany was path finder and led the whole way doing a good job. Lovely views across the Solway Firth to Scotland but we couldn't see anything on top because it was misty. But we still stopped and had the obligatory sandwich anyway in one of many little stone "houses". Had to come down quickly because the little one was scared of Mrs Doom (misty, mists of doom, Mrs Doom - get it??) coming to get us. Then it was a really easy grassy path all the way back to the car, and a nice pint of Skiddaw Blonde in the Crown at Hesket Newmarket. Back home for roast lamb for Easter dinner. Yum.
