It's not scarey! admittedly i done it without snow on it but i found the tricky bit was between An Garbhanach and its top, the Devils ridge was easy

Totally agree about that bad step on the Devil's Ridge. There was no way I was revisiting that 'bad boy' on my way back across for Stob Ban and Mullach nan Coirean so I took the lower bypass path instead. Top Stuff!

. One other thing - and Gammy is probably not going to thank me for saying this - but that bad step on the Devil's Ridge (the WTF moment as you called it) definitely ranks as my scariest moment on a mountain ridge. In the squeeky bum stakes, it outdoes any bum clenching I did on the Aonach Eagach, Am Fasarinen on Liathach, Crib Goch or the Horns of Alligin, which until yesterday had been my top bum clenching ridge experience.

Great report Kev, enjoyed that loads........the winter coat as Monty says makes it look even better, and obviously made quite a difference to the Devil's Ridge section. I remember it being really quite straight forward on a summer's day....

Hats off to you guys for completing this in 8 hours.
I did this the day after you in similar conditions, taking 9.5 hours and we we pushed hard
on all the ascents although we do faf about a bit on the summits
Have to agree about how stunning this walk is and with it's slight winter coating all the more so.

no worries - we were overtaken by two local guys from An Gearasdan and they did this in about 6 hours 30. They were thankful for the lift back up to the car park though!

Great report Kev! and absolutely stunning photos! although descriptive photos is probably a better term as you can see and possibly feel the scare factor of the descents and ascents.I done ( and it done me!) the RoS last October when conditions were blustery to say the least! It was a day of misfortunes, first my camera wouldn't power-up then it would, then it wouldn't,**** it I"ll use my phone, got to the last munro and discovered my phone was set for video! ****,****,****. but the good thing about having done the RoS is looking back at the one or two photos that I did get , along with other people's photos and especially yours ( Devils ridge ) ( looking over to Stob Ban ) and saying ***k me! did I come down that!
