Plan A today was to climb just the Corbett as i had a wee strain for the past 2 days but once walking i felt fine and decided to go for plan B which was to climb the Munro. Then i had the idea of plan C, why not climb them both? Great idea, so dedcided i would see how i felt once i did the Munro and how much water i had left as i only brought enough for a 4 hour walk. I arrived about 11 at the start and got the last parking spot. Once ready i took the track up the Allt Buide where a cairn marks the spot to leave the track and climb the Munro. The path goes all the way to the summit but can be missed at times and although there are a lot of ups and downs over the ridge it is a fairly gentle walk. Personally i though it was a great walk, maybe because it was such a good day although the rocky ridge would be enjoyable even in clag. At the summit i met a guy named Gordon who is also a member of this site and we decided to walk back down together although he could not continue to the Corbett as he had to get back. We came back to the just before the 863m top and made our way down to the track in the Coire Buidhe. It was here we parted company with Gordon offering to top up my water bottle from his allowing me to continue to the Corbett. I thanked him and made my way up Creag na Cathaig as he headed down the track back to the start. As i approached the 804m top i could see the weather was changing and not long before i reached the summit heavy hail appeared followed with snow. This stayed on while i was at the summit and didn't go off till i was at Meall Garbh. From Meall Garbh i went down the ridge to Meall nan Caorach and then down towards the Allt Buidhe which i crossed to get back on the track to the finish.

Good job you climbed Beinn Sgulaird first to get the good views before the weather worsened - enjoyed walking in this area but didn't think to add on the corbett - cheers :D

I'm impressed JC, last thing I want to do when I'm not feeling 100% is climb a bloody great hill and get hammered with hail at the top  great stuff mate :D

Well done for combining - 'deliberately' left the Corbett so I can take it and the 3 Grahams over in that area for a summer camp and watch the sun go down....
