- Ptarmigan left lomond right
- Nicky and Scott at lower basecamp
My first munro, left Edinburgh 7am, kitted up ready to go 08:45
weather nice for mid March.Joined by my son Nicky and nephew Scott(their first also)
Path up is very good all the way to summit, getting a bit steeper towards summit.
Once on summit be decided to return via Ptarmigan Ridge which for me
was the best part of the walk. the initial 50m descent was mild scrambling but no problems
great interesting path all the way down and very scenic.
Ended up about 10 minute walk along road from car.
hard to guage this as its my first, I am 50 and not fit but found it quite easy, legs a bit sore by end.
I have since don Beinn nan Tarmigan it was marginally harder but even more spectacular.
plan to to do Stob Ghabhar & Stob a'Choire Odhair this weekend and Ben Cruachan after that
(working my way up)
