I've been suffering from a real bad cold all week and a nasty cough, but Saturday 28th April 2012 was such a beautiful day that I decided to give the hill climbing a go.
As per usual, couldn't resist stopping en-route to get some nice landscape shots, here is one taken from Firkin point at the northerly end of Loch Lomond:
I met up with Peter at Glasgow and due to the late start we decided on Ben Challum. Parked up just before midday at the layby on the A82 midway between Crianlarich and Tyndrum, across from Kirkton farm.
The crossing of the bridge is part of The West Highland way, and he walk in over the flood plain is very nice indeed with the Crianlarich Hills pointed out by this sign:
The area is steeped in history, here is a small graveyard just above the West Highland way:
I made it to half distance but was really feeling the effects of this cold and turned back - a correct decision I'm 100% sure.
About where I turned back:
Peter continued to the top whilst I took my time on the descent and took more photos.
