Two great hikes in Glen Shiel

Day1 Friday,The 5 Sisters of Kintail.6 and a half hours
First time up in this neck o the woods for us so what better what to start than with the 5 sisters?Myself ,Jim ,Huck finn ,Kev ,Ian and jake had travelled up on Thursday and were booked into the hostel where we spent a quiet night .On the go and at the car park at about half eight and began the steep start.Somehow ,and probably because none of us were in the best of health(self inflicted of course)we had taken a path that took us more or less to the low point between Sgurr nan Spainteach and Sgurr na Ciste Duibhe,still it got us to the foot of the first munro and we sat in the cold ,had some soup and hoped our hangovers would soon fade.They soon did and the rest of the walk was excellent,cloud level high enough to see all around and the weather was decent ,a great way to open the Kintail account

Day 2 Saturday ,South Glen Sheil Munro's,10 and a half hours.
For Saturday's walk we were joined by The Legend that is Charlie P ,his son in law Kevin ,Watty and his nephew Darren.Darren had never climbed a munro before so we were a bit worried about pitching him into such a long day.We needed have worried though as the young fella cruised through the day ,even performing some impressive head stands.Again though we never learned our lesson from thursday night and most of us turned up again with raging hang-overs,one of us suffering from an acute case of Laphroigitis(you know who you are) A great walk this ,long and tough but again the weather played ball and Ian reached the milestone 100 munro's on Sgurr an Lochain.Well done to the boys on this one ,especially Watty and Darren and big Kev for getting Watty to the end. A great weekend all round ,must get back up there soon.

I'm with dooterbang though. Not sure I could do these with a hangover An even more impressive effort for that, so well done all of you

I've still got the five sisters to do, which will hopefully be some time later this year

Some lovely photos in both sets. However the Laphroagitis one made my stomach turn. A brave effort indeed to do that walk on the strength of a bevvy of drams the night before - about 40% strength that is. The mental effort to finish the walk must have been huge - well done indeed.

Smashing report and pics...My friend and I are doing the 5 sisters in June, But im thinking about doing the South Ridge in Sept on my own,,,all the reports do it from E to W but the Cluanie Inn offered to drive me to the other end so that I would be walking W to E, Any thoughts on that,,I dont have my transport or accom sorted yet so open to suggestions lol...

Was about 1/2hr ahead of you lot on Sat, recognise the dog, i had mine with me and he's a bit nippy with other beasts so was watching out in case you caught up haha
