Start point
Parked the car in the carpark opposite the Storey Arms Centre grid ref SN983203,start point. I had decided on just a short walk as i had a couple of thing to do later in the afternoon.

The walk up Fan Fawr is short but steep in couple of places.

As you approach the summit you will now see a small cairn that has been built, last year when i was up here it was only a pile of stones, I stopped to chat to a fellow walker, it turned out he was in training to climb Kilamanjaro later in the year, I wished him well, i hope he makes it. I made my way to the trig point which is slightly lower than the summit cairn, but with some great views, all be it a bit hazy.

Fan Fawr`s north face close up
I now dropped down the eastern slope turning north as i did to skirt round to the north face to rejoin the path on the western side and back to the car.

Seems to me a good alternative to avoid the crowds on Pen y Fan!! especially when it's really busy! Nice walk! :D
