Yesterday I reached 100 on the Wainwright bagging scale :D

It was a fantastic day for walking in the fells with lovely clear skies and a cooling breeze. I used the classic "if it's good enough for Wainwright, it's good enough for me" excuse not to climb The Howitzer but was lucky enough to have my son Ross with me so he was able to carry some of his old man's DNA to the top 8)

Here are a few pictures from the walk...

Well done. After a 17 miler last Sunday I'm now on 98. Helm Crag is a superb little summit isn't it.

Looks like a pleasant little route. I'm scouring walk reports for routes I can do with the wife and my (by the time we go) 3 month old daughter in a sling. Is it a fairly clear route all the way? I can manage steep patches, but any scrambling is off the cards (I might make an exception the Howitzer.)

Oh, and well done :)

Oh, and well done :)

Thanks. It is an easy path to follow an no scrambling required. There were lots of kids with parents on the summit of Helm Crag so it is definitely family friendly
