You're on the track for about 20 seconds when u reach a marker cairn with a path leading upto the ridge, the path is fine to begin with then gets a bit muddy and then stoney as you gain height. When you reach the ridge there is another marker cairn. Visibility was poor for us at this point with very few photos taken due to this. We headed up the ridge passing two small cairns before reaching the huge cairn of A' Chralaig where we had lunch before making our way to Mullach Fraoch-Choire. The ridge is narrow and rocky with steep drops and involves a little scramble here and there but with no difficulties. Although a great ridge walk, it would have been nicer to do it in better weather but it was still very enjoyable. Enroute to MFC you pass another marker cairn, this one being a route down if chosen although you could easily return via the route of accent. It would also be possible to take in Ciste Dhubh and Am Bathach to make what would be a fine horseshoe. We returned to this cairn and headed down the path to the valley below, picking up the initial track back to the start.

Another cracker JC, must have been warm despite the cloud as Jimmy slowly unpeels from long trow's and gaitors on the ascent to long trow's only at the summit and finally shorts on the descent  I must be a rambler too I think as I'm always in long trow's

Nice one Johnny. I attempted this a couple of winters ago & only found the first summit due to the size of the cairn, then had to retreat back the way we came. Came of the ridge too far along on even steeper ground & had to traverse along snow covered slippy grass. Lovely.

Meatball, I may well be up for that route also.

Johnny, brilliant report as usual

Still have these two to do and after hearing Jonny616's antics in the snow, I'll be up there before the white stuff reappears hopefully :D

Don't listen to what anyone says, shorts are always a good look
