Steven who's just back from Kilimanjaro wanted to do something a bit smaller to celebrate his latest foreign adventure and persuaded me & the other Steven to head up to the Lawers for a bit of R & R. We decided beforehand to dump a car at the Lawers pub and go from the Beinn Ghlass side as the weather forecast was pretty reasonable. By sheer coincidence we'd managed to choose the same day as "The Lawers Quadrathlon" which was getting filmed from land sea & air and heading in the opposite direction to us! All I can say is they are super human and make munro bagging look like kids play. A swim across loch tay, 7 Munros, a 7K kayac, finished off by a 34 mile cycle all in under 10 hours....................iron men/women doesn't even begin to describe it  I'm in awe 8)

After all that I realised half way up I'd lifted the wrong camera lens..........doh  so not much in the way of wide angled views here, which as the day went on I got more annoyed about as it really did brighten up in the afternoon

An enjoyable read with some fine pics :)
Had a similar experience a few years ago walking back out from Knoydart. Bumped into the 'Ultrafit' in Kinlochourn they were sailing in from Rhum, running, cycling, swimming and mountaineering etc- bloody showoffs :wtf:  I could only manage to walk out with a 70l on my back and a 30l on my front- how embarrassed I felt
Glad you enjoyed your day, i could tell that from the smiles on your faces :) Cheers.

Cheers RTC, my first time in the area, I loved it, especially the view back to An Stuc & Ben Lawers from Meall Greigh............its amazing, I was transfixed by it :D The weather was a bit like you say from around 11am till 3pm but then it really did brighten up (had our waterproofs on for The Lawers, An Stuc and removed them at the top of Meall Garbh) for the walk over to Meall Greigh.

I'm going back to Meall Greigh for a decent picture of the lochan, An Stuc & The Lawers though it's brilliant :D

Cheers again

Some excellent pictures in there. I did the 5 but walked all the way back to the Beinn Ghlas car park and it wasn't enjoyable by the end. That race you described sounds epic

Cheers Fudgie, yes that race was epic.............we saw Mark Beaumont (the round the world bike guy) on Beinn Ghlas, he was pretty near the front..................but you couldn't pay me all the money in the world to do it over 3 days let alone 1!!! The one thing I was glad about was we had a car at the pub, I don't think I could've made it back to Beinn Ghlas car park without phoning a taxi  so I know where your coming from on not enjoying that bit..............hats off for doing it though

Hi there, we met you on An Stuc. Good to see you made it down OK. You got some cracking pictures after the rain went off..and the walk along the lochan was every bit as boggy as it looked.
