We arrived in Glen Nevis and set off at 8 before all the tourists, following the path to Steall. The ruin is just over the bridge and is just bricks, nothing worth seeing, although there were some tourists spending a bit of time at it on our return. At the ruin there is a path that follows the stream up. We missed the path where it crosses the stream, due to Jimmy & Mo having a domestic about where they went wrong the last time they attempted this walk in clag
As we continued we were heading away from the ridge we wanted to be on so we then cut across to gain the south west ridge of Aonach Beag. Once on the ridge it was a straight forward walk to the summit up the broad ridge. The clag came in as we approached the summit and we soon located the small cairn, with us doubting whether it was the summit or not as the cairn was so small. Carn Mor Dearg looked bigger from here, an optical illusion though as we were definatley on the summit. Jimmy & Mo were now happy but still argueing about their last venture on these mountains. Form the summit we located the path that led to Aonach Mor, arriving here at 11.30 where we had an early lunch. Whilst having lunch another walker arrived from the north, he had came up in the Gondola but he was 20 short of his 3rd compleation round so we couldn't give him a row. We had a chat then we headed back down, initially heading down from the bealach but this was steep, rocky and wet so we decided to climb back up and go back over Aonach Beag as it was clear up there and we would see some views. From Aonach Beag we took the path down the ridge towards Glen Nevis but again lost it but eventually got back to Steall and the path back to the start in time for Jimmy & Mo's nightshift.
