Geal Charn Monadhliath (First Munro).

A few days in Scotland offered the chance to do some walking.I wanted to do my first Munro and being based in Kingussie had a few options.Due to time constraints I decided on Geal Charn Monadhliath which would not be at the top of many peoples lists for being a first.
I really enjoyed the walk up Geal Charn as it follows Feith Talagain through the Glen giving wider views as altitude is slowly gained.
From there an ascent of Geal Charn begins with no real issues other than very boggy ground.
This Munro is well worth considering if time is short as the feeling of remoteness is great.

Well done. As you say one of the less glamorous hills, but i enjoyed it although i couldn't see much when i did it.

Right enough, you may be one of a select few people to have done that one first - however, I'm always jealous of people who get to start their Munro round with a hill a bit more off the beaten track. I had climbed Ben Lomond five times before I got round to any of the rest (the literal truth; I'm not exaggerating ). The Monadhliath Munros may not be the most glamorous, but they seem to have that "remoteness" thing going on, which must make up a bit for the lack of "glamour" !

Well done Paulo. You've been around these forums for years - gave me a surprise to see "First Munro" in the title. Thinking about it now, you always seem to post stuff from abroad.

Thanks for the comments guys, I wish I had more Scottish Peaks under my belt but I never seem to head to the same places often.This means plenty of posts from far and wide.
I must spend more time in Scotland as I love it there.The midges seem to love me too, I'm at 102 bites and counting at the moment.
