Charlie woke early and asked "daddy can we do another mountain today?".
Looking out the window and checking meteovista it looked a good day to head to the hills.
Carn Gorm beckoned.
Lunch made, bags packed, car loaded and off by 08.45 - we arrived at 10.15 after stopping at Aberfeldy for the all important McVities Elevensies bars!!!
Charlie is 5yrs old and this is his 7th Munroe - he absolutely loves climbing and being outdoors as long as he wants to do this I'm happy to support him, the key is to make it fun and enjoyable.
He thought it was great fun jumping over the Invervar burn... Rather than using the footbridge!!
The climb up Meall Greagh was easy, after stopping for a snack and drink the trek tomthentop began. The weather was superb with good visibility all round, several deer were seen and plenty of grouse.
The summit of Carn Gorm was reached about 1.00
More grub scoffed at the top and after meeting a few other "baggers" the descent began. Charlie thinking that in order to get home quickly he should run down!!!!! Thank goodness I'd been in to Tiso the day before to get him some new boots!!!
Back at the car for 3.00' we stopped at the Fortingall Yew for a well earned pint and apple juice for the wee man. Comfy clothes on, Charlie relaxed, the return journey was very peaceful, by Weem - he was asleep!!
Well done Charlie.
