Meall Chuaich stroll

Supposed to drop the ladies at Tyndrum to walk the WHW as far as Inveroran whilst I climbed the corbetts Beinn Bhreac-liath and Beinn Udlaidh. The weather report was not good so decided to head east, choice between Beinn dearg or Meall Chuaich, MC won as it was raining when passing Blair.

Don't they look keen

Simple walk in following the aqueduct and up to the private hunting bothy, cross the stream and follow the path uphill. Couple of boggy sections on the way up which caused no problems however on the way down we took it in turns to each lose a leg in the mire.

Shooting could be heard from Coire nan Deargcag as we passed but we had not seen any warning signs.

As we started walking the surrounding tops were shrouded in cloud and rain showers but the strong wind cleared them. The wind increased in strength at height and multi layers were required.

On the descent we could see six vehicles and a number of people around the bothy but they had driven off by the time we arrived, lovely smell from the fire they had left banked up.

And back again

Left the car at 10.21 and made the top at 13.00, hid behind the cairn for a 15 minute lunch break to be out the wind. Returned to the car at 15.10 for a walk time of 4 hours 55 minutes.

Stopped at the Bothy bar Blair Atholl Hotel for a well deserved beer and brandy.

Get some odd looks taking the harem on the hills, drinking Irn bru is the closest I'm getting to a gender realignment.
