Did these on the holiday Friday, thought it would have been busier but not many others on these hills. Last 2 Mamores for me, started at 10am. Out of the car park, the back up the ring of Steall path:
Stob Ban on the right, path boggy in bits. Leads up to a craggy bit, sharp left after this and zig zag up.
Higher path is easy going, a few streams to cross to keep it interesting:
Up to a bealach:
Bealach cairn and path to Stob Ban:
Looking across to Devil's Ridge:
Steeper and rockier ascent of Stob Ban:
Other side of the bealach:
Further up Stob Ban, enjoyed the climb up - there are scrambly bits which can be bypassed.
View towards Ballachulish & Mull from the top:
Met a bloke from Surrey at the top, he'd done the 3 peaks on the way up and had found Snowdon & Nevis tourist routes very busy so appreciated this one. He was going to descend the same way, but I let him know about Mullach nan Coirean so he went for that one instead. Cairn & other Mamores:
Rest of today's route:
Bit steep & rocky coming off Stob Ban:
Glencoe hills:
Path leads on:
More scrambly ridge sections that can be bypassed, rock was dry today though
Cairn further along, looking back to interesting part of ridge:
Bit grassier after this, there wasn't too much descent/reascent so fairly easy walk.
Mamores ridge from the top, tempting to do the lot
Cairn and Loch Linnhe:
Path a bit rockier on the other side:
Last look at Mamores:
Path continues, joins a fence and gets muddier lower down:
Boggier bit & stile:
Good path after this, joins a landrover track
There's a path leading throught the trees where the landrover track doubles back:
Was now starting to rain for the first time today, just a shower though. Great walk, as usual with the Mamores
