Gavin99, Morecambe Monkey, Valerie, myself and of course Ritchie having all arrived respectively from Helensburgh, Morecambe Bay and Cowdenbeath were today treated to some magic in the Grey Corries. Our secret power snack for the walk was Gavin's homemade'Tablet', and what delightful tablet is was too! Even the Wee Minister tucked in and savoured a small block :)

"Good day kind people, may you have a rare day out on these here hills!"

Ritchie now leading us round Coire na Ceannain and the Grey Corries now fully in sight after the climb up the north shoulder of Beinn Bhan.

From the spur leading to Stob Coire na Ceannain looking southwest towards our first munro Stob Choire Claurigh at 1177 metres above sea level. Stunning grey boulder landscapes :)

Valerie and Morecambe Monkey enjoying the start of the ridge.

Soon we were treated to the glorious sight across the Grey Corries with the Aonachs in the distance mists!

Lovely loose stuff below and good progress being made - energy high after the intake of Gavin's top class tablet blocks devoured on Stob Choire Claurigh :) :) :)

This top here being Stob Coire cath na Sine.
DSCN0307.jpg
Stag rutting season and the roaring was clear to hear from all directions, particularly to the south here looking over the Abhainn Rath. The Water of Ness is forming to flow westwards just round to the right side.

Approaching Stob Coire an Laoigh viewed from Caisteil. All us loving this gorgeous route on a beautiful and relaxed autumn day.

The linking ridge turning northwest from Stob Coire an Laoigh. More tablet was promised at the nearing summit...yeha!

From the linking ridge looking west to our third munro of the day, Sgurr Choinnich Mor. A varied terrain now ahead varying from the grey and white boulders now so familiar over the last few kilometres.

On top of Stob Coire Easain, a special spot. Feeling safe in number and still suitably equiped we left our sacks here and enjoyed a jaunt over to Sgurr Choinnich Mor which was fun and at times very interesting. A cracking final munro of the 3 very special summits :)

Ritchie ever eager, but always watching out for the rest of us! Good boy :)

Schiehallion there popping up in the east! Wow.........what a day!
DSCN0393.JPG
Stob Coire an Laoigh from Beinn na Sociach still at 1007 metres high.

The spectacular Grey Corries, well worth the effort. Another fantastic day in our very special Highland countryside :)

Bod, glad you enjoyed your day, a fabulous day for a fabulous high level walk, with view in abundance. :D Next time I bump into Gavin 99, I hope he has some spare tablet  Well done all, something I have been wanting to do for a while now, the complete ridge. Great report and smashing photographs.

Great report and photos, as always bod :D

These really are great hills, but each time I see a report and think of when I stood at the base of Sgurr Choinnich Mor, having walked in from Glen Nevis to do the full loop, and my legs starts to hurt

Really love your fifth photo looking along the ridge with the clouds adding bags of atmosphere :D

I guess that I have to get cooking on the tablet front so I can get enough energy to do these fantastic hills. Great views and dramatic ruggedness with all the grey stones showing us that grey is not boring! Just given me another reason to get back to walking more often. :D And well done Richie !
