Having spent the night in Jerrys Bunkhouse, not a good night i have to add due to the fact the owner decided to sit with us at night telling us his life story. We are all sociable and friendly but wanted to relax and chill and discuss the following day but never got the chance, i mean how many Hotels or B&Bs does the manager or owners sit up with you all night :? Some may have stayed here and enjoyed it but for us we will not be back as were made to feel like we had to be babysat. Ok now thats off my chest i'll get to the walk. We awoke at 8 to be welcomed with rain and clag, not what was forecast but on the bright side i did sleep well, Jimmy and Mo not so well as there was no heating for them in the bedroom but i was cosy under the duvet and two blankets. Once ready we drove the 30sec journey to the carpark then set off on the bikes for the cycle / walk in with the rain now off and the clag lifting. We biked to the marker cairn then set off on foot upto the Bealach Bhearnais and then onto Sgurr Choinnich and from there down and up to Sgurr a Chaorachain. There is some mild scrambling along the way and both these Munros had a light coating of snow on them. At the second summit we saw another walker on his way over from Sgurr Choinnich and i jokingly suggested lunch to let the other walker catch up and hopefully he'd continue to Maoile Lunndaidh and be our navigator. He arrived as we'd just finished lunch so we had a quick chat and asked if he was continueing to the third but he was undecided as it would give him an excuse to return. We said he was more than welcome to join us and said he'd catch us up if he decides to carry on. We said our goodbyes after he took a summit photo for us and we continued to Munro 3, heading down the north ridge then east to Drochaid Mhuilich for a steep climb. After the steep climb it was easy walking along the Plateaux to Maoile Lunndaidh crossing two tops on the way and encountering some snow flurries. From here we headed down to Glenuaig Lodge, again with more snow showers, and the track back to the bikes and the easy cycle out to the car. On our journey home the Craggies were getting restless and needed entertained so we played guess the temperature in Glen Coe. All eyes were on the car temp gauge as we drove watching it go up and down until we got to Rannoch Moor where it was -2 and Mo was the winner. :D

Jerry certainly is a character, my son and i stayed there earlier in the year and Jerry threw a bit of a wobbler about some other guests bringing a dog into the Bunkhouse....having said that we all had a great read of the 50 year old climbing magazines that he has stacked up...but i guess you wouldnt have had that opportunity if he was chatting/ barking to/at you...

Glad to see someone else found the wire bridge...it seems most people ford the river higher up, great hills these, that third one certainly adds to the day, but is a great spot with those deep corries and views into strathfarrer.

nice to see a bit of snow out west, we were in the Eastern Cairgorms yesterday in a blizzard and 6 inches of snow lying!
