It is such a familiar sight, just asking to be climbed. And there I was staying at the Glencoe Independent Hostel, and all I had to do was look up, and it was right there. However, having not climbed any mountain, of any size, for 40 years, I wan't sure it would be as easy as it looked.

As other posts have said, it goes up, and then up a bit more. It's steep, and then it gets steeper. But the views from the top, even as the clouds were coming in fast, were as good as I had hoped.

I was glad to have got up when I did, because people coming up as I was going down were going to have to negotiate the final dome in very poor visibility (not something I would have fancied), or else turn back having done all the hard work.

So back to the hostel (as viewed from the summit) quite chuffed with myself, if with rather shaky legs.

Aye, well done :clap: ! That second photo is a corker. It must indeed make you want to get back to doing some more hills, despite the 40-year gap. After all, Vashti Bunyan had 35 years between her first and second albums...
