The standared WH route

Had a wee longer in ma bed for this walk wrottiewalker said he would pick me up at 7am yeeha after our recent walks up at 4.30am the usual time.So up at 6 out the door for 7 I have been on a weeks holiday and what a week ave had. After last saturdays walk with Scottishleaf (Gulvain) my left butt cheek started to get sore, then toothache on sunday, then went to get my eye's tested on monday ended up wi glasses but back to the sore butt clould'nt walk sunday,monday,tuesday some f&**&g holiday this phoned Alec might have to cancel the walk. went to the doc's on wednesday an emergency appointment after much stretching and pulling i had a trapped nerve in the butt so the tablets were prescibed muscle relaxant and anti inflamatries woke up on thursday brand new could'nt believe it.

So that was that back on the phone to Alec the walks back on yeeha.so thats enough of me got to the carpark 9.25

the weather dosent look to go so on with the waterproofs after the road ends the track is very mucky with the sheep walking all over the place the walk is pathed all the way to the summit you canny go wrong.
We came to the gate that you have to climb over so say's Jonny616 but we just opened the chain which keeps it shut

the next thing you come across is the Queens well

up past the cottage which was ocuppied then the track starts to get a bit steeper till the ciarn thats where you turn right and go straight up the path to the summit of mount keen here's some picture's.

Nice one quoman! It looks like an ideal hill for winter. Glad you still got the views from the summit, even though it didn't look too good from the start.

A nice memory jogger for me Quoman, it was only about 18 months ago that I was up there myself, couldn't help thinking that a mountain bike to the cottage would have been a better option at the time. That walk back in big boots seemed like hard work Looked a lot bloody colder than when I was up there too Great report, thanks for the memories

Hi gammy your no wrong there the butt is a bit sore the day after the walk i will have to keep taking the tablets about the wee hill is it called Craig of Doune..

Hi Chris the walk in/back was'nt that bad compared to last weeks at Gulvain its about 18k there and back.it wasn't that cold we sat for 15 mins just of the east side of the top in pure clag then it all opened up so very happy we were.

Cheers Paula... yeh it did'nt start that well we took the waterproofs of at the zig-zag bit of the path..and it would be a cracker of a walk in a nice winters day you know the kind crisp snow and clear blue skies.
