First attempt at this forum, and not sure about uploading images in order and stuff so hopefully it will work out OK.

Bored whilst on the last week of holiday from work and slightly unfit after slouching about over Christmas were the main motivators for adventuring out in a mild winter day to enjoy this remote munro...Forgot suncream.........

Arrived at 0930 to find a newly installed padlocked gate, brilliant !, cycle in distance was increased to 10km.

Arrival at what seems to be a new gate 0930 and locked. (possibly due to culling season to restrict traffic)

A wee stop at the refurbished bothy (great job done by the RAF lads) to put on full summer gear,

Refurbished bothy at Duag Bridge
then up Strath Mulzie to park the remains of the bike and ford the lovely warm stream.

Onwards and upwards into the clouds

then over the 760m knoll

View from the NE ridge at 760m toward the final ridge summit
and up into snow line

A nice exposed section just before the summit
before finding the summit close to the edge 1330.
Rapid descent required to avoid darkness, watching out for cornice edged cliff.
Seana Braigh Jan9 2013 016.JPG
Careful navigation required on descent route in poor visibility around summit to avoid cliff edge.
Time for some random freefalling 360 degree forward tumbles and use of the rucksack as a brake...Some time later beneath the cloud and horizontal sleet the gradient levels out.

View from lower NE section toward the River Mulzie and the location of the Bike.

At 1430 managed to locate trusty rested bike, time for one last selection box crunchie. High on sugar picked up bike which seemed a lot lighter since shedding some parts on the inward leg. Headed downwind over the cobbled track with more pleasant whole body vibration to reach the wee bothy at 1530 and contemplate a sleep in comfort...

A view inside the refurbished bothy, excellent job by the RAF.

No brainer returned to car and homeward bound. Back home at 1730 for a heat and drip dry.. Nice one...sure beats health and safety work..which is due on Monday...plenty time for another wee dram!!

Doesn't look too bad considering the weather is nearly always miserable just now :)

Good memories of Seana Bhraigh - approached from this side for my final Munro. We had great weather.

Where's that new gate? you used to be able to park very close to that bothy near Duag Bridge.

True the weather was sound for this time of the year and did not require any crampons or ice axe.

The gate was located at the final exit from the woods just about .5 km from bothy. No hassle just added about 30 minutes to bike section. Still better tackled from this side rather than Inverlael. Was up that side last year but did not have the time to go across to Seana Bhraigh.

Well done on completing the Munros..

That bothy looks amazing! Great report and fab pics. Did this one from Inverlael a couple of years ago, lovely hill.

Thanks. Yes the bothy has been refurbished to a high standard. There is also another big room and a smaller room inside. No open hearth to light a fire so might be quite cold during an overnight in winter...well done to the volunteers who did the work.

The bothy you show is The Schoolhouse, which is maintained by the MBA

You confusing it with Magoos which the RAF maintain ( which is attached to Coiremor Bothy )
