Thought I'd try my first solo snow walking and thought Skiddaw was a safe bet. Couldn't get the car up to the carpark at Underskiddaw so slid to a random halt somewhere. Crampons on and off I went. Great views climbing up looking back towards the Helvelyn range.

Once nearing Little man there was so much wind it was covering tracks within seconds. #scary.

After watching two people struggle through the depth of snow decided not to try for Little Man. Passing people coming back down who said they had turned back because of bad visibility. Thought I'd keep going until I felt it right to turn back. Luckily there was sufficient gaps in the cloud to get to the top. Bloody freezing on top but some lovely views every now and then.

Bit scary at times but feel that I've earned a glass of red in front of the fire now.

Great stuff, bet you feel really pleased you pressed on and made it :D A large red as a reward, well deserved. Some cracking photographs from the top, that what it's all about.
