Corbetts: Beinn an Lochain, Binnein an Fhidhleir
Date: Saturday 2 February 2013
Time taken: 7.5hrs (incl stops 2hrs 20mins - food, photos, warm up camera, crampons on/off, scenery gazing etc)
Distance: 14km
Ascent: 1,565m

Have been rather busy of late and showing little sign of change resulting in very few if any chances of getting out but a brief window appeared last Saturday. Late night on Friday so wasn’t up as early as usual on Saturday. Drove up to the Rest and be thankful and parked in the lay-by at the roadside for Beinn an Lochain.

Got over the wee burn from Loch Restil then followed the track up on to the start of the ridge.

How fantastic to get out again! I'll have to wait a few more months... You certainly made the most of the day, bagging two, albeit Corbetts  Well done!
Love the picture of the snow formation, it looks like a giant wave 8)

Brilliant Rockhopper, you certainly made the most of the opportunity to get back out there, stunning photos (glad you stuck with the camera fixing/warming rather than lobbing it over a cliff in anger  ) Lovely stuff, great to see you back

I've often heard it said that Beinn an Lochain is a classic winter hill, and you can see why from this report. I've let it get away over the last several winters, but might just get a chance to squeeze it in later this month. Another great report RH and good to see you back out there doing your stuff! :D
