I'd had my eye on Beinn Chuirn since I'd done the Lui group almost 2 years ago, on Monday, I would finally get round to doing this cracking looking Corbett. I parked in the carpark at Dalrigh and wandered down the familiar track I had taken for Lui & Co, except this time I would take the right hand fork at Cononish and follow the track to the mines, and also, the view in front of me was even more stunning then before, with majestic Ben Lui looking truly Alpine in these condition. As I got to the hairpin of the track, I continued West to fallow a feint path up the right hand side of the Allt Eas Anie, which quickly faded away. The Allt Eas Anie is impressive to say the least, with it's falls at the top tumbling down the huge gash in the hill.

The route up was pretty steep in places with a few small outcrops to be avoided, but before too long the ground levels off above the falls and gives the legs a much needed breather. The ground here was mainly frozen, and I would imagine at other times of the year it could be pretty soggy here. From the more level ground I headed Northwest avoiding as much of the large snow patches ass possible after gingerly crossing one and sinking every few steps., eventually finding myself at the summit cairn in just under 3 hours. I sat and refuelled for about 20 minutes just soaking up the views, picking out the various peaks. What a cracking day to be out :D

I had thought about adding the Graham, Meall Odhar to the walk, but the frozen snow slopes on the North side of Beinn Chuirn soon had me retreating back to the summit and I retraced my ascent route back down, happy with my days adventure 8)

A very fine looking day on a very fine Corbett. You'll get a better approach to the Graham when you return and tackle it from Tyndrum Lower station. It's a knee breaking ascent up the scree slopes by the mines but a tremendous high level walk round once you're up there. 8)

I had read your report before setting off Graeme and considered the same route, but being unsure of the snow conditions between the 2 hills, I opted to attempt Chuirn first with Odhar being a Brucie bonus if possible. I willnow attack Odhar from the station in the future :)
