Club Meet from Feshiebridge bunkhouse, we decided the night before that we would do Bynack More. The five of us started off from the carpark just beyond the Glenmore Lodge training centre at 0855hrs, it was very cold but dry, no sun but slightly overcast and with hardly any wind. The good walking track takes you through the old pinewood forest towards the Ryvoan Bothy, not hanging about we quickly came to the signposted junction, see photographs.
- Starting off at the car park
- Signposted track follow the arrow
- Heading off through the pine woods at a brisk pace
- Easy walking, lovely setting
- Frozen An Lochan Uaine
- We take the right fork to go to Bynack More
- Looking up Strath Nethy
- They had not built this pathway when I was here last in 1996, it's a lot easier and dryer now, great stuff.
- First sigh of the two summits of Bynack Mor on the left and Bynack Beg on the right
- Last time I missed out Bynack Beg, not this time!
- About 850m time for the crampons, gradient much steeper and the snow covering is hard
- Off we go heading for the summit
- Enjoying this, it's fine, hardly any wind, but very cold
- Getting near the top
- Posing at the summit cairn
- More posing
- Ice sculptures on Bynack Beg summit stones
- Coming down again
