Lost Dog Lead and Karabiner on Beinn Narnain/Cobbler

Postby electricfly » Wed Feb 27, 2013 10:00 pm

Hi, was up Beinn Narnain and the Cobbler today with my spaniel Alfie and other hikers.

Somewhere along our route my grey rope style dog lead and it's Petzl pewter/orange bent-gate karabiner became detached from my pack. :(

We ascended Narnain from the SE and up via Spearhead Gully to the summit, then crossed over to ascend the Cobbler via the staircase and descended via the SE crags. It could have become detached anywhere along this route as I only noticed it was gone as we neared the main road and I went to put the dog on his lead.

I know the cost isn't great, but was a good wee lead and krab, should anyone come across it please nab it and get in touch. I will naturaly reimburse all postage costs.

Thanks, Eric.

Update...

...As the weather was so good today, I decided to go back and retrace my route from Wednesday. No sign of the lead anywhere along the route, so I'm assuming it has been picked up and is now restraining some other munro-loving mutt.

I realise it was my own fault for not securing it to my pack properly, but should you be the person who found it and took it off the hill, Alfie would really love to have it back.

I've tried to find a similar 3 peaks rope lead with padded handle and metal spring clip, but it would seem that Pets at Home no longer stock the metal clip version, only the slip/choke lead. :(

Yes that's the one, It's on their listings but is only available to buy/reserve/collect in store and when you check availability there appears to be none in stock anywhere. :?

Hi there electricfly, me, my wee boy and my own Munro loving mutt went up Narnain on Sat the 2nd March, your lead was hung in a small tree in the centre of the path on the first steep up hill bit where all the concrete blocks are! I remember it and thinking it was a great lead but thought best leave it hung on the tree in case the owner returned, sorry I can't be of more help and wish I had brought it down with me then could have returned it! :(

Oh well, I did go up that way again the day before on Fri 1st March. Obviously I missed it, probably because I was scanning the ground for it.

Thanks for letting me know...
...I am now kicking myself a second time!
