After a lovely meal in the Old Bridge Inn and a few drinks on the Friday night lots of folk were making plans for the following days walk. Most people were heading out on organised walks with leaders from the club.
I decided on walking my own one with one of the girls joining me.
We got dropped off at the Youth Hostel where Loch Morlich ends by one of the guys heading to climb Cairn Gorm.
From here the start of the walk is very well signposted and a great path leads north east all the way to the summit. The path was icy on parts but not much snow and no need for crampons at all this weekend for me.

- cairn gorm
- Loch Morlich
We were at in the summit in just over an hour and 10 minutes. Although it was only 1020am we sat and had our lunch!! Helped to soak up some alcohol from the evening before.

From the summit I took a bearing east and picked up a good path down towards Ryvoan Bothy.

From the Bothy we followed the path towards Glenmore Lodge and the Reindeer Centre and then hitched a lift back into Aviemore.
