Did anyone go out yesterday ?

Did anyone go out yesterday ?

Postby soapy27 » Sun Mar 24, 2013 10:23 am

Hi just wondered if anyone on here went out yesterday and how bad the conditions actually were? Had plans to do the Grey Corries but cancelled due to strong winds and blocked roads to get there .

Going to Clachnaben today for a stroll round to Charr bothy. Not doing the hill cause I have a child in tow this time I reckon it is going to be a bit cold and snowy for that malarky. Will advise on the roads when I get back....If I get back!!!!

This was the road outside my house.

Where's the road gone?

At least the local farmer cleared the road in the afternoon and I got to Arbroath for a curry at night

Wind was arctic, visibility was limited and the going was hard underfoot the whole day - I hate shopping in town.

I was on Skye from the 20th to the 23rd.
First trip there.
Weather was great Wednesday and Thursday, even though the temperature was a little low and there was a wind but it got worse on Friday and Saturday. Winds got strong and the sun wasn't really out in a big way anymore. Would have stayed till Sunday morning if it hadn't gotten like that.
There was practically no snow worth mentioning, the whole time I was there. Only snow lying on the hills was above the 2000-feet mark.
