Cairngorms 8 tops ski tour in 24 hours

A ski tour over the eight highest Munros in the Cairngorms starting and finishing on Cairn Gorm. Sunny and clear with very cold east wind. Mixed conditions, good snow cover throughout. Some very fast going on hard old snow but also some great runs with soft snow on the hard base. The run down from Ben Macdui to Loch Etchachan was superb. Some skinning was tiring on the hard neve. The snow on the five kilometres to Beinn a' Bhuird across the plateau from the Lairig an Laoigh was in great condition for fast travel.

Fabulous skinny ski tour Roger. After all a ski is only an extension to a walkers stride The fifteen or so kilometers from Ben Avon back to Cairngorm must have been hard work after visiting all the tops. Think that I might have been attracted by the M2? and day lodge run back down to the car park from ptarmigan area.
