We left Paisley early as usual- 0530 to make our way up to targets for today. Doogz and I had discussed a few options, and decided,as Mags was coming with us, to stick to something less serious
We parked up at past Callert House at about 0730, and insted of walking back to the ROW track, just took the track behind the car park. A fine sunny start to the day, although a bit nippy

Wandering up the route for today had us delayering pretty quick. The path was frozen, for which we were grateful, but would be on the muddy side if there was differing weather to contend with. No forced marches today, just slow but sure
The route ahead:

This area has always been a pleasure to walk in, so views today would be savoured greatly considering the angles the surrounding mountains would be viewed from.

Steadily onwards passing the path makers at spaced intervals. We veered off the path to climb in the sun, a steep trudge but worthwhile

Took several rests in order to refresh ourselves, especially as Mags was feeling a bit off colour
The wind was beginning to pick up slightly, with the the chill becoming more then evident, so re-layering required

We plodded on to reach the fenceline, and on through the gate higher up. Mags was no better at this time. but forced herself forward we assured her it was going to be well worth it.

We spent ages up top, just snap-happy. Sat for a time to eat and be merry, before heading off to Tom Meadhion. Mags didn't feel she would make the trek, and headed down from the beallach as we continued on- after all it was only 1015

It was now time to head down to the car, so no messing we headed for the forest edge. The underfoot conditions were fine till we reached the forest though. Harder going through this section, especially with what Doogz was carrying- see last image
. Took a slight detour over to a small fire break, and arrived at a crag edge above the Forestry road. B*gger it, down we went clinging to a fallen tree for support.
Through a deforested section, over a fence through a field and onto the main drag. Relief at last ! the car only along the road a piece
