Forecast looked best for SE Highlands so decided to finish off the boring old Drumochter hills :D Had the 3 on the eastern side of the A9 to do & just went for the easy option of driving in between.

Layby 87 is on the left if you're driving north, and just past a sign for the distillery. Across the road & through the gate, construction work going on so there's 'authorised personnel only' signs on the gate.

Soon through the work area, looking back down from the path:

Bit steep at the start, soon up at the quarry.

Then turned left for Carn na Caim. Plenty of land rover tracks to follow, right here:
Image

Followed a fence, few boggy bits but not much ascent.

Cairn:

Then back to the bealach for A' Bhuidheanach Bheag.
Image

Bit boggier this side with more ups & downs and the path isn't as obvious.

Cairn:

Cloud started to clear on the return to bealach.

So I could see the ups & downs.
Image

Rain stopping as I descended, might even get some views on the next hill :D

Meall Chuaich
3:10 hours
650m ascent
15km

Drove up to layby 94 next, it's on the right but there's a farm road on the left just after it where you can turn. Other walkers had parked on the grass verge at the gate at the start of the track.

Brought the bike for the approach to this one, Meall Chuaich from the track:
Image

Carn na Caim looking less claggy now.
Image

Parked bike at bothy then over the bridge to the path uphill.
Image

Back down to the road in:
Image

Boggy at the start, then a few rocky bits further up.
Image

Now that's a big cairn.
Image

Cairngorms.

Monadhliath.
Image

Ben Alder.
Image

Hills I've just done, Carn na Caim.
Image

Bridge of Tilt hills.
Image

I walked all the other Drumochter hills in clag so this is my favourite  Headed back down.
Image

Picked up bike at bothy & headed back to car.

Nice one, gman. Cracking pic with the rainbow.

Did CnC and ABB in snow so, interesting to see them in a different light. I think I'll follow your lead for the third one and bike up the track in May.

Good effort gman, some nice photographs and looked like pretty good walking conditions, deffinately the best way up these hills is stay on the tracks, otherwise bogfest. The first time I did these I thought boring, but second time, hills ok, nice high level walk once you have done the initial climb you have a rather nice high level walk with fabulous views all around :D
