A weekend away with Alan S and Springer ,Alan S drove us to Gairloch on friday parked behind the millcroft inn at the campsite . got the tents set up ,what a challenge with the wind and rain. we decided to go to the millcroft and decide what we were going to do on the saturday. After many pint tumblers passed over the bar and many discussions and checks on weather sites we decided to go and do Slioch ....thank god as we looked at the clock and it was 12  , back to the tents to listen to the wind and rain all night Alarm goes off at 6.30 and we are up and away and started walking for 7.40am from the car park at incheril. a great stunning walk along the kinlochewe river to loch maree and flat enough to sober us up :D , then it hits us turn right and head up up up up and up boggy in some places but the sun was shining and it was like an oven the sweats started but i felt really good and led the way ,soon we passed the lochan and headed straight up to the first summit at 930m amazing views and we headed over to the true summit and had a bite to eat . the snow was deep and we stayed out the clouds all day. we dropped down and over an excellent ridge that was a bit hairy at times due to the snow drifts on them i really enjoyed this and we climbed onto sgurr an tuillbhain ,then dropped straight back down and rejoined the path and returned back to the car .. All in a great weekend with my mates and a well deserved munro it is a beast of a walk hungover or sober i would imagine

Thanks. Bit of a blow really as we don't have any winter skills. Just didn't envisage snow at this time of year. We were really looking forward to doing the Liathach pinnacles and the horns of alligin but I take it that wouldn't be advisable with no snow experience.

Nice one guys. Pair of light weights though you should have stayed in the pub and put your boots on there.
