Ben Vrackie, I'll be backie

Headed home from my work in Edinburgh and up the A9 to Pitlochry in glorious sunshine. I left the car park at Moulin at 14.20 and was on the summit by 15.35. There is no need to give a detailed route description as the WH one says it all. I would add that the car park is quite small, maybe 10-12 cars. Given this is such a popular hill the likelihood of not getting a space during 'peak' times would be quite likely I'd have thought. When I arrived there was only one other space. I guess you could always park in Moulin Village and walk up to the start point if necessary. This was my first Corbett and I was rewarded with great views on the summit. Beinn a'Ghlo was looking particularly majestic. I'll let the pics do the talking

I really enjoyed this walk and with it being just 30 mins up the road from Perth I'm sure I'll be back time and time again.

Wow so thats what it looks like in Spring! wish I'd seen it like that although 3 foot deep in snow with a frozen Lochan was fun! Nice report

Nice one naepeace! Vrackie was my first Corbett too. And my second, and third, and possibly fourth and fifth as well. I've lost count! And in pretty much every season and weather imaginable. Oddly though I have no report on it and very few photos! Not done it in years but I have had it in mind recently for a post-work summer evening walk. I do have a great photo somewhere of a very young Lucy (the dug!) running through the shallows at the edge of the loch. Must dig it up and post it. Oh, and as for bright tops, where were you on Beinn Liath Mhor at the Torridon meet?????

I always turn when I see reports of Vrackie with views Did this with MrsR as her first Corbett in pish weather. It was wet and windy. We saw hee-haw and she hated the hill. I must take her back one day when the sun is shining so she can see what a great hill this really is

Nice one . Not been up Ben Vrackie for some time now, but it was a fairly regular quickie when I lived in Dundee. Always a good one for a late start.
