Carn nan Nathrach ................ the cairn of the Adders is well named .

We came across this beither hiding in "lus nan nathrach" or the adder grass, he was sunning himself ,we did not disturb him long and neither me nor an cu fancied getting a nip :)

This Corbett is hidden away at the back of Suaineart between Gleann na h -iubhraich and Gleann an dubh lochan and it can be fair haul in to reach the start point at the bottom of the Beinn a Mheadhoin druim

Once you are up through the trees the sealladh opens up immediately and on a grand day like this it was stunning

There is a clear trail on the ridge with interesting basalt dykes and minor false summits and wee lochans which were sparkling clear

A dhaithgearr bha sin air a mhullach Beinn Mheadoin .... we were soon on the summit of Mheadoin looking into the Glen and with a good clarity toward an tir mor ..... the mainland

I could see the summit in the distance from here a surprisingly long ridge walk for a wee hill :D

We were hanging about a fair while in the nooks and crannies this cracking wee hill has in abundance, I could see the islands of the inner Hebrides and the Cinn Taile range and The Cuithlinn on Skye

You can add a wee bit of a mild scramble to get to the summit with the basalt crags and the view from the mullach is grand

So another fine day out in Suaineart Ghorm nan Darach and I would recommend this fine hill to anyone in fact this corner of the Gaidhealtachd has an abundance of variety and is not often visited, but best keep that a secret.

Great weather :) . This is the last biggie in the area that I haven't been up yet - hopefully I'll be taking the tent over it sometime this year (going to be watching out for adders though!). Can't wait!

 Is this what everyone in Ardgour calls the other side of the ferry?

We too enjoyed this longish broad ridge up/down to/from Nathrach some years ago. Friendly folks at the Glenhuirich house.

Thats a coincidence, i was nearly giving you a shout to walk this on Sunday but forecast i saw for the area was mist and fog so went to Glen Roy instead. Looks like you got the better of the weather as our Corbetts were in clag. Catch you sometime. :D
