Tried to reply to all your posts last night but couldn't find the words.
We wild camped (first ever time we'd done it) near Loch Ericht on Saturday. First we walked from Balsporran and walked as far as we could to get nearer the loch. We got up at 6 the next morning and searched that area. We headed back, parked up in Dalwhinnie and set up camp next to the woods and closer to the loch, jetty and boat house (just down opposite Tom a Bhacain).
We cooked up bacon, sausages etc to see if the smell would draw anything out (in case Ben's hiding out there) but nothing. After searching around some more, we called it a day and came home last night.
Don't know where else to search unless we go over the same ground. Carrying a back pack of that weight has really took it's toll on both of us. I don't know what the most any one else has carried but we arn't big, or healthy people but we would keep going if it meant we find at least some thing, even his body.
Spiderwebb, we're so grateful you went out again and searched. What you've done over the past 4 weeks, for us, has been nothing short of heroic. That goes for every one else that has come out many times too.
Ryan, thanks so much for taking the time to do a spread sheet of searched areas, we'll update our info and hope others that have been out do the same.
Benji's story went in print in the Strathspey Herald last Thursday. It's about a half page and we're hoping that any locals will have read it and if they've seen some one with him and thought it suspicious, we might have gotten some phone calls.... but nothing
After a couple of days recovering, we will be out wild camping again. Don't know where as yet.
Again, thank you to every one that has helped in any way they could...
