We had a brief overnight stay in the Lakes last year which although eoyable didn't give us a real taste for the area. I had taken two weeks off at the start of May but the weather didn't look too appealing for us so instead went away over the weekend at the start of June, as I don't work Fridays at the moment we were able to have three days away.

First off on arrival we headed to Walla Crag. The sun shining and it was hotter than we expected.

The path is a fairly straightforward walk through woodland to begin. This was the first view starting to open up

The next day we had arranged to meet with a couple of my friends who stay in the Manchester direction, we figured the Lake District was a halfway point for us all to meet up. We headed to Grasmere and walked to Easedale Tarn

In the evening we decided to do something a bit more relaxing and headed for a drive round Buttermere

09/06/2013 - For our last day we headed for a look round Ashness Bridge and then headed to Gowbarrow Fell

On our last day Penny celebrated her 10th birthday :D

All in all we had a great time away, even for a short break. We enjoyed ourselves so much we went back last week!

Lovely shots Sarah, 10 years old and just learning to paddle, before you know it she'll be in up to the knees

Thanks we had a great time, really enjoyed my time back last week too but still sorting out the photos! She must be a late developer lol when we were on Haystacks last week she did almost go up to her knees lol She is normally the dog who jumps to the stepping stones rather than paddle through

It is always nice to get out and about in the finest of weather :-) It fairly keeps the dogs happy, and posing in stunning surroundings :-)
