A very interesting and enjoyable read supported by some excellent photographs.

Congratulations to you on achieving your objective from someone who is just about to start their Munro career (not quite true; did do the Ben in September 1991 but that was because it, glorious weather and I were all there at the same time). And then to join Mountain Rescue; even better.

Coming from Durham City I fear I will not be able to do all 282 in three years (probably 15 not to mention needing a sea going tanker load of petrol) but even if I did live closer me thinks I wouldn't get anywhere near.

Like you I shall be starting this on my own so if any members spot an ageing Geordie walker without a heart marching along by all means say hello; it could be me.

Once again, many congratulations.

Ron, what can I say that hasn't already been said.

Congratulations !!!!

After that first walk on Meall Chaich I thought I'll not keep pace with this guy and made it my ambition to walk with someone older than me, well that hasn't worked so far, well maybe Monty LOL

It was a great day meeting up with many faces and names that I've chatted too but yet to walk with, so best I change that !!

Rounded off with a great evening, and there's nought wrong with a cheesy DJ !! Although I must confess I'm sure some of the Munro's are easier than all that Orcadian Willow malarchy Jeez !! And yes I was one of those lost at the start !! Still always room for improvement in that dept. and the evening wasn't long enough for me to demonstarte some f my 'moves' which is probably a blessing for you nice folk !!

So the end of a journey, I'll keep plodding away, keep tabs on that Plooy now one ahead and gammy just a few behind me, maybe a joint compeation in the offing ?

Keep in touch as I'm sure you will, we share some of the favourites that I know we'll walk again and again. Been an absolute pleasure meeting, chatting and walking with you and hope that continues.

All the very best to you Spider.
