Back to the 5.30 starts. After watching Brad's neighbours get up to some monkey business and disappear he finally emerges...the joy of city centre living.
Anyway we make it to Arrochar aka "midgetown" and dive into our gear before dashing across the road. Its warm and humid this could be sweaty fun.
- Back to Arrochar
Through the foliage which is soaking but refreshing, keep having to tell myself i'm not in Jurassic park. Still Raptors would be preferable to the midges
Once we gain some height we realise the clouds are going nowhere for now, giving us tantalising glimpses of the hills as they break and reform. Remind me to come back and climb A' Chrois looks cool.
- Saving itself for later
- Rolling clouds
We're near the summit and into the rocks, oh no rain, proper rain. Full waterproofs not fun in the humidity
- Are we having fun yet?
Sooner than we think we reach the summit of BN. Still in cloud and the rock is soaking - I manage to do an excellent impression of an elephant on roller-skates and nearly face plant into the summit cairn.
- Window in the weather
- First summit of the day
We head down to the boggy bealach, and are soon heading back up into the cloud. Ime is a slog due to the low cloud. Shame.
- Beinn Ime
After a chat with a nice couple on top we head back down to the bealach.
- More cloud - starting to lift
Midges mean we soon start up The Cobbler. A good but wet path and not many people about so we're soon at the top.
we check out the needle but decide not to climb as the rock is soaking.
- Cobblers
Off down the rocky front path and the sun finally makes an appearance. We run into a lot of people on the path down all in good spirits, amazing what the sun coming out for the last half hour of a walk will do.
- Coming down
- Finally a view
Back to the car and a drive home in late afternoon sunshine. Shame about the swarm of midges waiting for us in the car.
